X1 Pocket Bike: How Do I Hook Up the Automatic Start?

Question by Dave F: X1 pocket bike: How do I hook up the automatic start?

I just realized that my pocket bike DOES have automatic start, but it isnt quite working, even when the bike is hooked up to the charger. The automatic starter is right behind the pull start, and there is one wire coming out of it. If I just wanted to test if the electric start works, what would I hook this wire up to? I was thinking that this one wire was the positive lead, and it was just grounded to the chassis. Is this correct?
This is what the part looks like: http://www.scooterparts4less.com/web_gas/Electric_starter.htm

It only has that one cable coming from it.
ok, so i hooked the automatic starter up to a 12v 10amp car battery charger, and the flywheel started to turn, but very slowly, like, one turn every 3 seconds. How is 10 amps not enough? and what is the “relay” you were talking about. I have one of these:

if thats what a relay is (the automatic start is hooked up to this device, but i dont know what to do with it)

thanks

That wire would have to hook to a starting relay,a smaller relay that can handle the starting amperage.

Yes, that wire needs battery + voltage to turn the starter. Read what gdrnch40 wrote if you want to install a starter button. Otherwise, just touch that wire to battery + (be careful of sparks and the wire is going to get hot).
