silver – more visible than black. you’re less likely to be accidentally run over by a car (or lawn mower – since i’m sure you’d never take that on city streets) ;-)

I think you’ll find black is ok to, On sunny days i’d think silver would have allot of glare effecting your vison

They are legal to own, but you can’t license them or ride them on public streets.

They are not legal to operate on public roadways anywhere in the continental United states. I live in central MN and I know they are not legal here.

They are the source of a lot of problems. Between being cheaply made and regulations regarding where they can be ridden they aren’t worth the bother. They were a hot commodity a few years ago but have fallen out of favor due to all the problems.

i hate them every kid i see on one i just want to kick them and make them fall dont waster your money and that junk there illegal i haed a freind yesterday riding one and the police showed up and he had to call his mom and they had to pay a 250 dollar fine and show up in court get a dirt bike there so much better more fun and way faster its not like your going to take a pocket bke of a jump are watever unlike a dirtbike you can go anywhere but the streets there well worth the money

A waste of money.
You can’t do anything with them.
Ride it up & down the block, in front of your house.
About as much fun as a ride on lawn mower.
Save your money and buy a small dirt bike 80cc
Transmission, fast, big wheels & suspension allow you to ride anywhere.
Sand pits, wood trails, hills, Motocross tracks, across streams, jump through the air – you can’t do any of that with a pit bike.

I really don’t understand the fascination. I see twenty year olds riding these around my neighborhood, and they look goofy/weak. I don’t want to sound ignorant, but I really just don’t understand them. I would buy my kid a mini bike so they could learn, but to actually pay real money painting and modifying them?

They are ultra cheap and kids are enamored with sport bikes, even the motorized toys called pocket bikes. Also pocket bikes are NOT street legal. They are not legal on public property, only private property with owner’s consent.
Respectfully, if they are riding around your neighborhood, they are breaking the law. Please call the police. I would love to see pocket bikes banned from this country.

Spark plugs, possibly. it also my be the battery if it has one, if it does put it on a charger overnight

I’m 5’4″ and growing, 105 lbs, and looking for a fast way to get to my friends houses without having to ride my bike all the time. They all live about 10km (6.2miles). I found a couple that I like but i cant find them for sale anywhere on the web, the model numbers are HC-X8-04 and HC-X8-03. How much do these cost and where can i buy them?
And i can get away with riding on roads i live in the country no one cares.

Since neither mini bikes nor pocket bikes are street legal how is this gonna solve your problem? Wait till your 16, get your bike lic.and buy a real motorcycle (albit used) that can be registered, tagged and ridden on the street.

you dont need a license for a pocket bike, however they are illegal on the streets in CA, not sure where you live, it really depends on where you’re riding though. my neighbors are cool and dont call the cops. i have got a ticket on my 110 and my friend got the same ticket on his CRF 50 when we were riding on the street….we got tickets for no motorcycle license. it was about $ 150. no insurance is needed because youre not supposed to be on the street. they are a lot of fun and i love my little motorcycles….you just have to be aware of where you are riding.

i have a dirt bike (75cc cuz im a child) and my grandparents live in the hill country so i think dirtbikes r better (plus on a dirtbike u dont fall off as much)

Pocket/mini bikes are uninsurable and are not street legal. Ride at your own peril (both physically and financially).

funny question :D

I’m about to build a miniature mini cooper (I know what you’re thinking… How more mini can it get??)
hehe, its going to be mini enough to fit me barely :p
so can I drive it on the street?!? (like not high way but normal streets)
and also, its perfectly legal to drive it on the sidewalk right!??!!?
its gonna have a pocket rocket or go kart engine, like 49cc
any thoughts? :D

Maybe if you’re driving it in a parade or something, but not at any other time.

It’s the same as a go-cart. Not legal to be operated on public streets or sidewalks. You can only drive it on private property, with the property owner’s permission.

Hmmmmmm…..I’m picking up that you live in the Cook Islands, so yes, all you need is a license plate, which is easy to get.

If you are in the UK you will need to have the finished project inspected by the ministry of transport and verified as complying with construction and use regulations. Once that is done you will have to get it insured and taxed. Then it will be completely street legal. It will have to be street legal for you to use it on ANY public road for ANY purpose. Under no circumstance will you be able to use it on the footpath unless you can get it registered as a mobility scooter.

Can’t even ride a bicycle there.

unless u have enough space on ur own property, it will be a waste of money. pocket bikes CANNOT be legally ridden on the street by anybody. the bike will be immediately confiscated if u are found on the street with itby the cops. if u dont belive me, buy it and find out for urself. btw, u will lose more than ur bike. u’ll be looking at a heavy fine also; unlicensed vehicle, unsafe vehicle, no plates, no registration just for starters. and before u ask….no, it cannot be registered…….period.

Mini Bike Won’t Start 49cc Pocket Bike?

i have a 49cc gas bike, it has good clean new gas with engine oil mix to it correctly, the spark plug is ok

i took it out of storage and added the gas, but it won’t start
is there something i can do?

the 49cc gas engine is the same as small lawn mowers….
how do i clean the carbs, do i spary a carb cleaner in there or do i have to take the carb out to clean it?

Nine times out of ten you will need to clean the carb if it’s been in storage. With a gas/oil mix if the carb was not drained prior to going into storage the gas can turn to varnish and block the jets.
